<a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.infosys.com/instep/default.asp" target="_blank">InStep</a> provides you a unique mix of experiences - exploring a new culture, working on a project of strategic relevance for the company and networking with interns from the world over.
A major part of intern’s work day involves project work under the guidance of the Project Mentor. The mentor closely works with the intern to set deliverable goals and provide direction. Throughout the internship, variety of activities are organized to provide the intern an opportunity to interact with professionals from different campuses and levels.
Right from learning dance moves in Bollywood Workshops to understanding the company’s vision in ‘Meet the Leader’ series, there is excitement at every corner. The sprawling Bangalore campus spreads across 85 acres echoes a legacy of over 33 years and acts as an inspiration to many.

Polina works in the Infosys Zurich office as a Business Development Executive in the Energy sector. An Instep internship alum, she discusses in the below video how the internship immersed her in Indian culture and prepared her for joining the company full time, including allowing her and her now-manager to get to know each other. She also provides advice to those interested in joining the Infosys Instep program in the future.

Hi, I'm Polina Beck. I am working as a business development executive at Infosys in Zurich, Switzerland.  I did my MBA in Switzerland at the University of St. Gallen. During that time, we had a presentation about the great opportunity to do an Instep internship in India, which then turned into full-time employment.
I would say there were several factors which made me choose Infosys. On the one hand, it was great to have glimpses into the Indian culture. We went to a national park, a local school where we learned some dancing, we had yoga classes, we did some mandala drawing, and just also a lot of hanging out with interns and having a wonderful time in India. Friendships and partnerships that we've created throughout the internship, I hope that will last. From my batch, I think there are already six or more other interns who've joined Infosys.
It was very valuable to get to know my mentor, who is now my manager, during the Instep internship. It was an opportunity to get to know each other to see if we were the right match. And I know, for example, that there are Infosys meetings each year where all professionals, like from the sales vertical get to meet.
I think in terms of career development, there are many opportunities. The one account team, which I was part of, got a silver award for the best mega account. When you see what other achievements other teams have made, it is also very motivating to see the room for growth, and not just in terms of being recognized, but just how much you can achieve. There is room to grow. My advice to future applicants and interns would be to try to embrace all the opportunities that they have. It is also a steppingstone into the organization. So if you're interested in future employment, it's a rare opportunity you should take advantage of.

Nidhi is a sustainability and design expert with Infosys, as well as a former intern with the Infosys Instep internship program. In the below video, she discusses what drew her to the Instep program, as well as the importance of sustainability to the firm and some of its most impactful sustainability efforts.

My name is Nidhi Gulati. I am part of the sustainability practice at Infosys. I ended up at Infosys via the Instep program. What made me apply to Instep was how customizable and unique an internship program it is. And for me to do an internship, it had to be an internship that took into account the experience that I had and the aspirations that I had for the future.
Instep was a program that would be a customized internship. There could be a place for recognizing the skill set that I brought in and finding a fit. We [Sustainability] are still a young practice inside Infosys. We have a lot of knowledge about how to be a sustainable enterprise—because Infosys is a sustainable enterprise. I think it's important to lead by example at the scale that we have. And at that scale, it's important for us to be carbon-neutral ourselves—and we've done that, and we've done that by thinking about our offices and our campuses in a way that minimizes resource consumption.
We've also done that by creating a lot of our own resources on renewable energy and using that for our energy needs. And then we've also really thought about community investment instead of carbon credits. So, like, carbon offsetting by investing in communities. Leading by example, I think is extremely important, and Infosys does that.
That is the place where I aim to go, where we can just infuse sustainability, social responsibility, and social impact into the way we deliver our services.

Meet Nidhi

Sofia works in Infosys Energy practice, and much of her job is connecting startup companies with Infosys' client network, fostering symbiotic relationships between organizations. Sofia talks in the below video about how innovation drives both the startups she works with and Infosys at large.

My name is Sofia Trojanowska. I work in Infosys, focusing on energy sales. And we are supporting EON in the energy transition in Germany and Europe throughout. During my Instep time, I was based in Berlin. COVID came, and everything was down. Nothing worked. But Infosys worked.  It was also the opportunity for me to still do the Infosys Instep program. And I got my assets delivered, I got on board very smoothly, very conveniently. After that, when I joined Infosys, I also went to Bangalore, and I was just wowed by the campus. It's a green garden full of tech and people working. Hence, fascinating.
I'm very fond of startups. I like the entrepreneurs behind the new ideas, the additional value that is created for humanity and for the society from startups. We have Infosys Innovation Network, and there we onboard different innovative startups. We basically then open the doors to our vast client network. We support innovation. We have very innovative projects, and we have been net zero since 2020 already. So, in the future, I would really like to work even more with innovation and startups.
I see many opportunities everywhere, by connecting people to Infosys to basically foster collaboration. Having those conversations or facilitating those is something that I aspire.

I've always been called to be a changemaker.
I'm Lauren. I started my career in the government sector because I wanted to make an impact. Frustrated by the gridlock of politics, I quickly realized that there were other avenues I could pursue and still make a difference. As a child, I had always had an interest in tech, but I hadn't before considered that technology could be my career.
I decided to go back to school and transition into a career that I could be really passionate about. Infosys is the environment I've been looking for all my life. The focus on learning, the work, the encouragement you get for your passion, it's a really rewarding space. I'm also thankful to have found a community of supportive women within IWIN, the Infosys Women's Inclusivity Network.
Now as a council member in IWIN's professional development team, I am also able to help other women find their career passions. At Infosys, I'm not just working. I'm learning, growing, and becoming a better version of myself.
